Savannah Georgia named One of America’s Prettiest Towns

Posted in Ardsley Park, Gordonston, Isle of Hope, Savannah, Savannah neighborhoods with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on October 13, 2008 by savannahgeorgiahomes

Historic Savannah homeSavannah has been named One of America’s Prettiest Towns by Forbestaveler.com. Counting Savannah’s superb garden squares dripping with Spanish moss and its cobbled riverport among the features that makeit the loveliest Colonial town in the U.S.

No big news to Savannahians but we’re happy for the honor bestowed upon our beautiful and historic community. Savannah is full of charming communities  like the Historic and Victorian Districts, Ardsley Park (Savannah’s first suburb), historic Gordonston, Baldwin Park and Isle of Hope to name a few.

A great place to make your home.

Thanks Forbes!

Stubbs Tower Implosion, Savannah, Ga

Posted in Gordonston with tags , , , , on December 24, 2007 by savannahgeorgiahomes

Stubbs Tower’s, a high rise senior citizen residence built in the late 1970 had been evacuated several years ago and the city had it demolished a couple of weeks ago.  There are plans to put a park on the spot.  Stubbs Tower’s was located on the east side of Savannah, about 4 blocks from the historic Gordonston neighborhood.  Since I live in the area, we walked over to watch the implosion in person……….it was so surreal and amazing!  Over very quickly as you can see from the video.
